Seedling planting revitalizes rural economy in Huangsha Town

The landscape trees are luxuriant, diverse, straight, and tall in different heights in the nursery base of Lvshan Planting and Breeding Cooperative in Xiaoxiajie Village, Huangsha Town, Yizhang County, presenting vigorous and vibrant scenery.
More than a dozen local villagers are busy in picking up seedlings, pruning branches and leaves, wrapping soil, transporting seedlings of ginkgo trees with a diameter of 15 to 18 centimeters.
Spring is the peak season for seedling sales. Seedlings in this village are sold to several surrounding counties, and to counties and cities in Guangdong Province. The nursery, with an area of more than 200 mu (13 hectares), has more than ten varieties of seedlings and attracts 15 local villagers to work in the base. Its sales volume is expected to reach more than 400,000 yuan this spring.
It is said that the nursery base is mainly planted with green seedlings together with more than ten rare tree species, including camphor tree, osmanthus fragrans, Elaeocarpus decipiens, golden rain tree, ginkgo tree, Cinnamomum burmami, Podocarpus macrophyllus, Taxus Chinensis and Red Leaf Plum.
Huangsha Town, Yizhang County has adhered to the development concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” in recent years, making the local green seedling industry gradually become a new economic growth point. It can help to increase the income of local farmers and revitalize the rural economy.
